Community Consultants
We created two groups of community advisors to ensure our work is helpful and fair for people in Tallahassee and nearby areas. Community Consultants are experts in the community who know a lot about health issues and outcomes for Black people in Leon and Gadsden Counties. The two groups of Community Consultants for this project are the Community Advisory Council (CAC) and the People’s Health Justice Committee.
COMMUNITY ADVISORY COUNCIL (CAC)
- Led by Drs. Meardith Pooler-Burgess, Sylvie Naar, & Heather Flynn
- CAC Chair: Ms. Tara Hylton | FDOH Bureau Chief of Chronic Disease
Our Community Advisory Council has 10 members who know about fair health care, health systems, and working with the community. These members include people from health systems, local agencies, businesses, and organizations in Tallahassee, FL and surrounding areas.
Our study team wants to learn from the community advisory council and get advice and feedback by having group discussions four times a year throughout the project
